Hailing from Edmond, Oklahoma, I bring you Vintage Whale; two very ambitious young ladies with a knack for vintage and anything else that might just be too cool for you and me. They are Lily and Kristine, two college students who have four, yes four blogs between them, an Etsy shop, and now a Facebook fan page. I did a lil’ Q&A with the girls last week and here is what they have to say.

MELANIE: Welcome Lily & Kristine! I feel like I am interviewing a rock band… Err… uh, so when did you get started making jewelry, cards and collecting vintage dresses?

VINTAGE WHALE: We’ve been thrifting for ourselves for years now, but only recently have decided to share our finds in our Etsy shop. We started making jewelry, accessories, and cards approximately one week before Vintage Whale opened, so about a month ago! However, though we are new to the crafting world, we couldn’t be more enthusiastic or excited about our new ideas, pieces, and our shop’s reception by the lovely people of Etsy.

MELANIE: How would you describe yourselves?

VINTAGE WHALE: We are two college students who wanted to share their vintage finds and handmade goods with everyone on Etsy. Lily loves the color purple and has recently become an avid beader. She also loves scouring estate sales and flea markets for unique and fun finds. Kristine is inspired by anything floral and loves making things out of buttons. She loves going on thrifting adventures in her spare time. We have frequent crafting/movie nights to make adorable necklaces, accessories, and paper goods for our shop, and also to work on photographing our items!

MELANIE: Not wanting to skip a beat, is there anything else we we should know specifically about the shop?

VINTAGE WHALE: We never list anything in our shop that we do not adore ourselves. So, we hope that people visiting Vintage Whale will find something that they love as much as we loved finding or making it!
